Welcome to Room 2
Dear Parents and Students of Room 2,
Welcome back to another school year! I am very excited to be working with an incredible third grade team and look forward to spending the school year with you. First, let me introduce myself! My name is Kim Norgaard and I received my BA at University of California Santa Barbara and worked in advertising for a few years before earning my teaching degree from Notre Dame De Namur University in Belmont. I recently finished my Masters degree in education with an emphasis on curriculum design. I am a part-time instructor at Notre Dame deNamur university in the education graduate department.
I value hands-on, authentic, active learning for children and believe school should be fun. Daily, I strive to create a positive learning environment where students are eager participants and enthusiastically return to school for more learning.
Teaching kids the power of reading and writing continues to be a passion for me, as is creating a classroom environment that engages children in learning and promotes respect and kindness to everyone.
Additionally, I enjoy spending time with my husband, children, kitty & puppy, as well as running, reading, and traveling the world.
Again, welcome to third grade in Room 2. I am so glad you are here!
